Umm… well, welcome to the new site. Still trying to get everything set up the way I want it, so don’t be too surprised if stuff changes dramatically.

Why were you wearing a coat while you were at your computer anyway? Heat go out?
So, yeah. As you can see, I moved and changed my name. (Mostly for tax reasons, so if man in an ill fitting suit from the IRS knocks on your door, you don’t know me?)
First off, I just want to say that my moving had nothing to do with Tumblr. It’s a great service, simple to set up, outstanding set of features, and really a breeze to use, but it did make me feel a little closed off from my readers.
Not that I received a whole lot of comments that last time I had a wordpress blog, but I did get a few every now and again, and it was a nice way to interact with your audience. (However small that may be.)
On Tumblr I felt like I just kept throwing things out there with no real way to gauge if anyone was reading anything or what the feelings were about the things that were read. Again, not that I got a huge amount of feed back that last time, nor am I expecting a lot this time, but they system is in place for it, and that’s something at least.
I’ve decided to come back to WordPress because I always like the features and how easy it is to maintain, only this time I’m making WordPress.com host it this time. I’m not sure if it was something I was doing or if my old host’s MySQL software was bad, but it seemed like my database would crash about once a month when I tried it on my own. So I figured I’d hedge my bets, and just let WordPress do all the heaving lifting, since they should know how to make this thing work better then anybody else, right?
Besides, it’s been working for Kreblog so far.
Again, and sorry if stressing the point too much, but I have nothing but good thing to say about Tumblr. Hell, there Java bookmarklet that figures out what type of post you want based on what you are linking to is worth the price of admission alone. I still highly recommend it to anyone who wants to set up a small and intuitive blog.
But I’m not sure if that’s what I want anymore, so let’s give it a go here.

OK, I promise to not be so “schticky” from now on, but god help me that and the coat gag made me laugh.)
